Business, Blog & Portfolio Theme

Ultra is a theme that is ideal for businesses  that want a very clean, elegant and professional website, however, with the custom portfolio and blog templates it is also an awesome website for personal portfolios and blogs. You can easily switch between a business or blog layout for your homepage as well as create a portfolio or services page simply by using the custom portfolio page template and selecting a portfolio category via your theme options page.

Unlimited Background Colors

The Ultra Business WordPress theme makes use of the latest WordPress 3.0+ background color chooser that allows you to easily change the background of your site via the admin panel using a color-picker.

To change the background color of your theme simply go to Appearance –> Background.

WordPress 3.0 Drag-And-Drop Menu System

Ultra also comes with 2 WordPress 3.0 menu’s which you can edit via the drag-and-drop feature located at Appearance –> Menu. By default the navigation bar will show nothing, so make sure to log into WordPress and customize your menus accordingly!

Featured Slider

Ultra Business uses the latest WordPress 3.0 custom post types so  you can easily add items to your slider using the “Slides” post type. Great for business sites.

So your slider images look best I suggest you upload images that are 940 pixels by 300 pixels, which is the size of the featured slider area. If you add a small image it may re-size and then look REALLY bad.

Also, if your slider isn’t working make sure that under “Settings > readings”,  the first field “Front Page Displays”, is set to “Show latest Posts”.

Adding Content To Your Homepage

To add content on the homepage like the demo simply use the custom post type “Homepage Top”. Here you can create posts, just like normally, but they will show up on your homepage only. It is the perfect way to add content, images, HTML, videos and lots more right to your homepage. While at the same time being able to have 3 smaller widget areas below.

You can also add content to the homepage at the bottom in cool floated boxes. Simply use the custom post type to add features, services, portfolio items or anything else you want to this bottom part. You can even set a featured image that will display with it.

Creating A Blog Page With The Recent Posts

Simply make a new category called “Blog” and add all your blog posts there – then link to that category. Easy!
